Make sure you have all the needed documents with you.

The ticket alone is not enough! You must also have with you the general conditions of transport.
You can also show the barcode of the ticket for your trip directly on your smartphone.

And, in line with the Security regulations and the Circolare Serie Generale n. 106 of the Infrastructures and Transport Ministry on Safety of Navigation, all passengers, including MINORS, must arrive for boarding with a valid identity document. Otherwise, they will not be allowed on board.

Passengers under the age of 14 must travel accompanied by their parents or legal guardians. They must always be supervised by parents or responsible adults and may not travel independently on the ship. Under no circumstances shall the carrier be liable for any damages suffered by minors who violate these provisions.

Underage passengers between 14 and 18 years of age may travel independently, provided they have written authorization from the person exercising parental authority releasing the carrier from any liability.

If a child travels under the custody of persons other than his or her parents, a declaration of indemnity must be submitted to the maritime carrier. In this declaration, the parents or those exercising parental authority must indicate the person designated to have custody of the child, who will be liable for all legal purposes. This declaration must be accompanied by a copy of a valid identity document for each declarant.

It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure that he/she has all the necessary documentation required by the country of destination. The carrier will not be liable if such documentation is insufficient for the authorities of the port of destination.

In the event that the child is travelling with only one parent, a written declaration of consent to travel by the other parent or legal guardian is required.

Are you sailing from Italy to Corsica or vice versa? Remember that in this case you will need to show a document that allows you to leave the country.
